Dentist – FAQ

How often should I visit the dentist?

The frequency should be determined by the dentist because it depends on the needs of each mouth. Your teeth and gums may need to be examined every 3 or 4 months. However, at least once every six months, you must visit the dentist even if you do not feel any problem in order to prevent future problems.

How your daily oral care should be done?

In order to have always a healthy and bright smile, you must always take care of your oral hygiene. Teeth brushing should be done twice a day, in the morning and the evening. But it’s not enough. Intermediate cleaning with interdental brushes or dental floss is also essential. A mouthwash will complete the daily care, giving a pleasant taste and freshness. A beautiful smile is first of all the clean smile and it always adds a sense of self-confidence and self-esteem in our everyday life

Does the whitening damage my teeth?

If whitening is done by following all safety rules in accordance with the implementing Protocol by the dentist and with materials approved by the competent bodies, it does not cause any damage to the dental and periodontal tissues. In order to achieve the desired result, every case will be dealt accordingly.

Where does a bad breath come from?

Bad breath is a problem that has been of concern to people since ancient times and is not a problem of modern society. It is caused by sulfur gases produced by the metabolism of the microbial flora of the mouth. If the metabolic activity of the microbes increases either due to an increase in their amount or due to an increase in their pathogenicity, then the bad breath is present.  The most common conditions that cause bad breath are gingival and periodontal disease.

What do I need to care after the teeth’s whitening is being done?

Do not smoke, avoid too much coffee, tea, coca cola, chlorhexidine oral solutions and very colorful foods such as beetroots and strawberries. But if you cannot avoid all of this, you should do whitening in few days at certain times, for example every 1-2 years to restore the white color of your teeth.

What is Aesthetic Dentistry?

By saying aesthetic dentistry we mean all those tasks that aim to improve the appearance of the patient's smile with use of special techniques and specific materials. They give an aesthetic result better than what we would have theoretically, if we use conventional materials of the daily dental practice.
